A periodic table you can play
chimini is a chemistry and physics lab that runs in your browser, free and with nothing to install. You pick elements from the periodic table, combine them, and it tells you what they form —with real scientific data, not made up—.

What you can do
- Fuse elements: combine up to five and discover the compound —formula, scientific name, bond type and molar mass—. Put hydrogen and oxygen together and water appears; sodium and chlorine, salt.
- The two alchemies: chemistry (bonds) and nuclear (the real one, which turns one element into another). The game computes whether fusing or splitting two nuclei releases or consumes energy, and shows the famous iron curve that explains why stars shine.
- Expose to energy: apply heat, electricity, radiation or plasma to an element and watch it change state, ionize or transmute.
- Explore by values: set a range of properties and it tells you which elements match.
- Mutant element and element to be discovered: one builds an impossible chimera from random values and teaches you why it's impossible; the other extrapolates what element 119, not yet discovered, would look like.
Real data, honest about its limits
The 118 elements come from PubChem (NIH) and nuclear energies from AME2020, both public domain. Where science hasn't measured a value, chimini says so —it doesn't fill gaps with zeros—. And when it estimates instead of measuring, it declares that too.
Why we built it this way
chimini is a single program that works offline —so it runs the same in a city school or a rural one with poor internet—. Built in Rust, it's free software, and it shows how we at Xiliux approach educational software: rigorous, accessible and respectful of its users.
